I left room for magic...

I took a PTO day yesterday, which is nothing too out of the ordinary, considering I am trying to be better with that. I had a couple of things planned to bookend my day, but otherwise, just some vague ideas of what would connect it all.

As I sat down to a solo lunch, I texted an old friend who lived nearby to see if he was in town - he was! I asked him what he was up to, and he said he would be in a Zoom meeting for just a little bit longer and then would be free. We met up and took a walk to our alma mater to say hello to one of our favorite employees. She was so surprised to see us, and we ended up chatting for nearly an hour — catching up on all of the various and sundry happenings in our lives and those of other acquaintances.

The afternoon rolled around and I ended up continuing with those items that were already on my schedule, but with this feeling of joy and gratitude.

I left room for magic in my day, and the world responded in the most incredible way.
